Bemis Co., a Neenah supplier to the consumer products andmanufacturing industries, reported net incomee of $49.5 million, or 47 cents per share, compared with $48.90 million, or 46 cents per share, last a period that included charges that reduced earnings by 5 centds per share. Net sales for the manufacturer of flexibles packagingand pressure-sensitive materialx declined 1.3 percent to $921.8 million from $933.8 million. Operating profites from both the flexible packagingand pressure-sensitivs materials segments were down in the seconcd quarter. The largest segment, flexible packaging, postedc a 1.2 percent decline in sales.
Management blamed the dip on highef market prices for meat anddairy products, which is reducinf demand for such items. Bemis BMS) reduced its earnings outloo k for 2007to $1.90 to $1.987 per share, with third-quarter earnings of 48 centws to 51 cents a
